A New Adventure

I hope that you are as excited about this brand new feature to the web site as I am!

TAC really is committed to helping your business succeed, and we feel that one of the best ways to help is by providing continual education in an easy-to-use hands-on format! So, taking advantage of technology, we are starting a Blog! Available to Angels only, this will be the place to turn for project ideas, workshop tips, and ways to build your business! I am not sure that the word "thrilled" is quite strong enough to explain my emotions over this new opportunity, but I'll say it anyway! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share some exciting things with you to help you build your business! I am thrilled to be a Blogger for the first time! Most importantly, however, I am thrilled that I get to take this adventuresome journey with some of the most talented, creative, best people in the world....TAC Angels!!!
The beginning of this Blog also echoes another start happening at this time of year for many families...a new school year! When I think back to the start of my elementary school years, I was obviously a creative supply addict from the start because that new box of crayons was absolutely the best...sharp points, that special crayon special. And...the best was getting the big ol' box of 64...your own personal rainbow right at your fingertips! Reflecting back on those fun school memories was the perfect springboard in deciding what type of project we wanted to feature in this first ever Angel University Blog post! In actuality, even though it may be the perfect material to create fond memories, touching photos, and fabulous scrapbook pages, Back To School time may be a more difficult business time for you...people have just spent a lot of money enrolling their children for school and are not "in the mood" to purchase hobby supplies. You may be feeling a personal slump with getting your own family back on a school schedule. TAC can help! We've provided a basic idea with a few tips to show you how easy it is to create and sell this project!

Covered notebooks aren't a new concept, but the process to create one can become greatly simplified because the new catalogue has taken the guesswork out of choosing coordinating products! Cha Cha seemed to be the pefect choice for creating a back to school project with it's fun, energetic palette reminiscent of school classrooms and that new box of crayons. Not only can you use this project to generate customer interest in the printed paper collections, but also the coordinating ribbons, cardstock, stamp set, and hardware! Practically everything your customer needs to create the notebook is available on page 10 of the catalogue! Both you and your customers can get excited about the notebook project because it is simple to put together; you can feel successful creating it, and it has a purpose! Who doesn't need a notebook? ...Especially a unique, handmade one. Thrifty demonstrators and customers alike can appreciate how inexpensively notebooks are available at this of year. As a TAC Angel , you can also be excited because additional add-on sales can come from Noir Palette ink, Ladybug paper posies, the Crop-A-Dile, ABC Elements, various-size circle punches, and Assorted Bitty Blossoms. Hopefully, you are now excited to create this project yourself and tuck your business card inside to use as a business tool or to share it with your customers who are desperately searching for a cute idea to welcome their child's teacher to the start of a new school year so let's get to the juicy part...the project details!

To Complete the Project Exactly As Shown:

Supplies:
  • Cha Cha Collection--(printed paper V-832, cardstock B-310, hardware B-110, ribbon B-210)

  • Salsa Flowers--T-2672

  • Noir Palette Ink--TT-220

  • Ladybug Paper Posies--A-91689

  • ABC Elements--A-10

  • Clever Lever circle punches (D-74 Mega Circle, D-73 Super Jumbo, and D-72 Extra Jumbo)

  • Assorted Bitty Blossoms--D-437

  • Crop-A-Dile--K-100

  • Premium White Cardstock--V-290 (optional)

  • Spiral- bound notebook

  • Medium-size binder clip

    • How To/Tips:

    • I chose to create the decorative covers on premium white cardstock before adhering to the actual notebook for added durability and added flexibility in case I made a mistake. :-)

    • For the front cover, cut a piece of premium white to 7 3/4 by 10 1/2 and round the top and bottom right corners.

    • Cut the circle Cha Cha paper to 5 3/4 x 10 1/2 and adhere to the left side of the premium white foundation.

    • Cut the purple paper to 2 x 10 1/2, round the top and bottom right corners, and adhere to the right side of the premium white foundation.

    • Cut a piece of cheddar-color cardstock to 1/2 x 10 1/2 and adhere over the seam between the two printed papers.

    • Embellish as shown in the photo

    • An added option for hardware includes using the back cover to make a page marker.

    • Using the same measurements as the front, cover another piece of premium white with corner rounded printed paper.

    • Use the Crop-A-Dile to add an extra-large eyelet to the back cover, near the top.

    • Run a piece of ribbon through the eyelet, making sure one end of the ribbon hangs slightly below the bottom edge of the notebook and the other end is knotted to prevent it from slipping through the eyelet.

    • Add the covers to the notebook!

    • Adding a covered binder clip makes an easy to use closure for the notebook. This medium-size clip was easily covered with a scrap of paper measuring 1 1/2 x 2".

    • Enjoy creating another wonderful back to school memory for yourself and your customers!

      1. I know that you will be successful as you help your customers create unique projects, and I look forward to sharing ideas with you along the way! I am glad you are joining me on this creative journey and thank you for taking the time to read ( and tolerate :-) an extra-long first post!

        Until next time....
